Enhanced Security Team Training

One of the biggest management challenges with security teams is their lack of ability to work together and communicate as a team. But it’s not their fault. They may never have been trained as a team, or only been trained based on what is required by law to achieve their licence to operate. And often, that training may lack quality and authenticity. Professional security teams, much like any other team, need to work effectively together to ensure they are both competent to carry out their duties and respond confidently in times of challenge and crisis, when they are needed the most. ESD supports the security operation of many prominent venues and brands with our enhanced security team training programme. An intensive day focused on decision making, communication and above all, teamwork. Our course builds on the very basic skills taught on basic SIA training courses and elevates officer skills and confidence through a series of discussions, presentations, and practical scenarios.

What makes ESD different from other forms of training?

01

Practical training in hours, not months It’s true that the more you practice something, the better you get. And we hope that learning ESD inspires you to learn and practice more. But you have to start somewhere. Much like learning to swim. No one dives straight into open-water sea swimming. It all starts with learning how to keep your head above water and survive. ESD is the first step to defending yourself.

02

Skills that work for most people, most of the time In a short space of time, it is essential that you learn skills that are achievable for you, when you need them. In a difficult, sudden or unexpected situation. Your time in training is precious. ESD gives you simple, tried and tested techniques that you can do immediately and experience success.

03

Combines modern training methods, online and in-person When learning self defence, there are some things that you need to know and understand, and other things you must physically practice. Much like first aid training, you need to know how to look for dangers and call an ambulance, but you absolutely need to practice life-saving CPR. That’s why ESD courses include short and impactful e-learning videos that you can watch before and after your training course. So that we maximise practice time when you train with us in person.

04

We worked out why other courses don’t work Before we created ESD, we spent many hours reviewing self-defence and conflict resolution courses that were already available. And we worked with experts in crime studies and conflict to understand the most common risks faced by people on an everyday basis. ESD is about you, not about us. The emphasis is on the everyday situations you may face, not about our philosophy or our subjective opinions on what ‘might’ work. We can’t be there when you most need it. So your skills need to be.
