What Self Defence is not
It's essential to clarify what self defence is not:
Self-defence is not about promoting aggression or violence. It's about empowering individuals to protect themselves and others responsibly.
Self-defence is not a guarantee of safety in all situations. However, it provides valuable skills and strategies to increase your chances of avoiding or escaping harm.

FAQs
How long does the training program last?
Our courses typically run from 3 to 6 hours, depending on the course type. This duration allows for comprehensive coverage of the material while also accommodating the participants' schedules. Longer sessions may include more interactive exercises or in-depth discussions, ensuring a deeper understanding of the concepts presented.
Can the training be conducted virtually?
While our de-escalation program can be conducted virtually, we emphasize the value of in-person training for participant interaction. Virtual training offers flexibility and convenience, especially for remote teams or those with scheduling constraints. However, in-person sessions provide opportunities for hands-on practice, immediate feedback, and interpersonal skill development that may be more challenging to replicate virtually.
Is there a minimum or maximum number of participants required for the training?
Participant numbers range from 12 to 20, varying by course and venue. This range ensures a conducive learning environment where participants can engage actively with the material and with each other. Smaller groups allow for more personalised attention and interaction, while larger groups facilitate diverse perspectives and group dynamics.
How do you ensure the training is relevant to our specific workplace environment?
Our customided courses can be adapted entirely to suit your environment, with certain elements adjusted to fit specific job requirements in our Safer Staff courses. Before the training, we conduct a thorough assessment of your workplace environment, considering factors such as industry regulations, organizational culture, and specific safety challenges. This information informs the customization of the training content, scenarios, and exercises to ensure maximum relevance and applicability to your workplace.
Will participants receive any certification or materials after completing the training?
Yes, all courses include certification, and some offer online post-course revision via our portal. Participants receive a certificate upon successful completion of the training, documenting their participation and achievement. Additionally, they may access supplementary materials, such as training manuals, videos, or online resources, through our portal for ongoing learning and reference.
How can we continue to support our employees in self-defence and personal safety after the training?
Continuous communication about personal safety, both at work and beyond, is crucial, with refresher training recommended every 12-18 months. In addition to periodic training sessions, ongoing support can include regular safety reminders, updates on relevant policies or procedures, and access to resources for further skill development. Encouraging a culture of safety awareness and empowerment, where employees feel comfortable reporting concerns and seeking assistance, is essential for maintaining a safe and secure workplace environment.
